Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 1, 2019

Who we are

Cornerstone Montessori School (“us”, “we”, or “our”) values your privacy. In this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”), we describe how we collect and use information we obtain about visitors to our website (the “Site”) located at and the products and services available through our Site (collectively, the “Services”). This Policy does not apply to information we collect from you offline.

By visiting the Site, or using any of our Services, you agree that your personal information will be handled as described in this Policy. Your use of our Site or Services, and any dispute over privacy, is subject to this Policy and our Terms of Use including its applicable limitations on damages and the resolution of disputes. The Cornerstone Montessori School Terms of Use are incorporated by reference into this Policy.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

If you fill out a form requesting that we contact you, you are sharing personal data for this explicit purpose. We keep this data to facilitate the requested communication, but do not use the data for marketing purposes. Note that you may receive marketing messages if you’ve separately opted in to such marketing.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

We use a Google Analytics plugin for WordPress called MonsterInsights (see their privacy policy here). The plugin gathers analytics about this Site and presents them in an actionable way via charts, graphs and tables inside our WordPress dashboard. The data is aggregated and accessible only by users with administrator-level privileges on our Site.

Who we share your data with

We disclose potentially personally-identifying information only to those of our employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on our behalf, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. We do not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying information to anyone.

Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, we disclose potentially personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Cornerstone Montessori School, third parties or the public at large. We take all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction of potentially personally-identifying information.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

This Policy is current as of the Effective Date stated above. Although most changes are likely to be minor, we may change this Policy from time to time and at our sole discretion. We encourage visitors to check this page periodically. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Policy constitutes your acceptance of such change.
